Just wanted to share a smart car day from HEAVEN yesterday.
Finally turned 1000 mile break-in and I couldn't wait to floor it! NO problems to report....
at all....other than the questions all the time gets kinda old, haha
Fourth tank of gas, better mileage, smoother transmission as it seems to have "learned" a few things. Sheer pleasure driving it every day, permanent grin from zipping around everyone with ease. BEAUTIFUL day in West LA, 75 degree afternoon, slid the roof open, cracked the windows down halfway. After going nearly a month of ownership and seeing NO fellow smarties in the wild in a span of five minutes and two Beverly Hills blocks I saw TWO! Of course, we shared big grins and little honks as we drove by each other.
Drove up the 405 in traffic, knowing the transmission and smartie computer are finding the most efficient way to coast with everyone else. Slipped into paddle shifting and zipped around people for the climb uphill, cranked the laker game up, looked up and out of my moonroof into clear skies. Got a honk and a thumbs up from a delivery truck...
Hit high winds in the valley, got whipped around a bit, but so did the Impala and Toyota in front of me! Grin got bigger.
Parked at my destination. E-class Mercedes going the opposite way made a u-turn and as I walked away I noticed the benz slow down and stop next to my smartie to take a closer look...
After a brief stop drove home with a tailwind, for the first time pedal to the metal on the freeway onramp....smartie gets up to speed QUICKLY and efficiently! Grin gets bigger.
Zipped around the land yachts driving home from work, remembering that used to be me. Quick news flash about the price of oil going up to $132/barrel gets me smiling again. Glad to have found the smart way before the wave...
