Battery

Ok folks. I tried putting a trickle charger on the battery for 24 hours. Nothing. The thing is totally dead. Apparently I need to get a new one. Any suggestions? I have seen the Optima 34/78 mentioned. Whatever I get will have to come from the auto parts store. I am in a small town. No Sam's club, no MB dealership.

Per the chief (who is never wrong....),

I just replaced my battery and it looks like NAPA has "redesigned" this battery to fit the smart "PERFECTLY"

You NO longer have to "mod" the hold down bracket..... it fits "perfectly"

If you install yourself, the procedure to protect the Smart's electronics is.

Ground off first. Then positive + cable.

Install new battery, Positive + first then put on the ground cable. A2Jack.

Thanks for the tip. I am very new to all this battery stuff. I was looking at the Optima but will get the NAPA. I just need to get the car running so I can sell it.
