Been through a car wash yet?

I am on day two of my Silver Pure. Weather in Chicago is cold and crappy like usual, but I am tempted to get a wash on the way home.

Has anyone been through a standard drag chain car wash yet? Any issues to consider. I know my Corvette's wheels are too wide, but this does not seem to be the case with my smart!

Any input is appreciated.

I've been through my local car wash - it has a roller track that pushes the car down a track from behind the driver side rear wheel. The right side brushes didn't completely close in on the car.

Should be able to hand wash and thoroughly dry this thing in less than three minutes. Another three or four minutes to wax and polish all the colored body panels with a premium liquid wax or acrylic/polymer spray, if you want. I agree about the car wash brushes. The last time I used a car wash was in the declining years of my old '88 GMC 3500 truck, even that was brushless. Reserve the car wash for that Avalanche.

The fleet of cars used on the smart road show were put through about 42 zillion car washes during 2007. Day after day, city after city. Occasionnally they weren't fully cleaned due to their size and wash equipment limitations, but not often. In any case, from full service washes to gas station quickies. None were damaged, all looked perfect at the end of the year, cabriolet tops and passion roofs included.

While I have many, many thousands of miles of seat time in the cars, one of my tasks was driving the smart truck / show trailer. So that's mostly where you'd find me between venues. Speaking of which, only things we put in there while travelling was the tridion safety cell and our static display car. All other cars were piloted by the crew across the country. They're lovable & tough little contraptions.

I should have added a disclaimer...I tend to get a bit (perhaps a lot) obsessive about my cars!
