Best Way to Sell My Smartie?

I'm brand new to this board and a proud new owner. I took delivery of my Red/Black Cabriolet last week. However, I think I really want Silver/Silver now so it wouldn't make sense to change out the panels. I'm on the wait list for an orphan and would like to sell my Red Cabrio. I currently have it listed on AutoTrader, but wondering if I could possibly get more interest on Ebay? Thanks!

A few people have asked me to buy the car on the spot while at a gas station or whatever... a for sale by owner sign in a public place would be a great option imho.

If color is your only gripe, remember... even smart cars can be painted. Not sure about the cabrio... I haven't even seen one up close. But I'm sure it can be done, can't it? Seriously, the hassle of selling/buying has to be an issue.

There's a section here in the forums to list it for sale.

If you're really interested in ebay, you could put yours up at a *reasonable price*, and get it sold pretty quick while among all the $19-27k Coupes and Cabrios. ;)

The car can be custom painted, however someone told me to reconsider because no matter how good the paint job is, it will never be just right.

I did put it up for sale in this marketplace of this forum. Will see what bites I get. I'm not in a terrible hurry as it will take a bit longer for me to find a replacement.

That may be true of other cars. But since the panels on the smarts may be and is in fact designed to be replaced, I don't see why that can't be done.

Its a bit early to be worried about maintaining the smart in "concour" condition methinks.

My ad got flagged by Craigslist. They won't allow anyone selling something for more than what a person can buy for retail. They call it "scalping". I think the flaggers are just envious that they can't buy smart without waiting.
