Bike Rack

When I picked up my Cabriolet, my wife looked in the brochure and saw the bike rack. We both wanted it. So I ordered it at the time I took delivery of the car, ordered the basic rack and the bike rack. Ain't heard word one about it coming in.

Anybody out there have any info on when accessories may arrive?

Not sure, up in MN I'm on a list for when it comes in. The parts guy here said "shortly" 2 weeks ago. I expect it by July 4th.

rumor mill has it the racks were recalled ... I think there was a problem with wiring of the lights ... just from what I recall being discussed elsewhere.

Wouldn't a "smartcar" rack for your BIKE be more practical??

Was just my dealership to get on the orphan list and asked about the bikerack. Was told it will be around $800.00 for a 2 bike set-up and the dealer has to install it. Thats a little pricey for a bike rack and if I understood him correctly it does come off.

Jefferios, if your bike rack arrives, let us know.

roverallover, hey, bad news, but I spose it's better'n no news.

nonuro, yeah pricey for sure, but my wife liked the looks of it, and since it was part of my finance package, I hope I'll never notice how much I'm paying. This is assuming the dang thing ever comes in at all.

Parnami, you think outta the box. How 'bout posting some pichers of yer Smart bein pedaled down the road?

I heard through the grapevine, smart is looking at offering the bike rack accessory sometime mid-summer 2008 (July time frame).

Looks like the bike rack won't be in till the end of the summer according to the parts guy. He told me to visit "Smart Car of America" cause they have a really neat one. Anyone know where I SCOA is?!?

My dealer told me the rack in the brochure ended up not fitting the 2008's. It was for the ealier models. Their mistake. oops.
