Black Wheels?

do the black wheels automatically come with the black tridion cell? just curious because I am not seeing this option on the site, and I would really like to have a "blacked out" cabrio!

I don't think black wheels are an option through smart.

Garage
I have seen the black/black with black wheels in the showroom, and it looks pretty great, but they're aftermarket / dealer option, as far as I know.

Dealers charge around $1500 for the powdercoating, but most shops will do it for $100 or less a wheel.

many shops will powdercoat at this price but tire removal and installation along with balancing will run you a good 25-30 per wheel on top of the paint and powder coat work.

I didn't think of it that way, atleast it's 1/3rd the cost of a dealer add-on.

I guess it pays to have friends that work at dealerships lol!

screw that! 1500? for 15's? what a rip!!! that is almost as bad as the 65.00 styrofoam smart "cooler". I will just have to wait for some black 18's to come out.. probably for not much more.

Powder coating involves baking so I doubt the tridion cell can be Powder coated, but you can always mask and use automotive paint.

I do my own powder coating, but I've never attempted a wheel before. The cost of powder is so cheap and there's only a few cents worth of powder per wheel but to do it right, there is a lot of prep work and wouldn't trust just anybody to do it. I plan on doing my wheels someday, but will practice on some old wheels first.
