I just rotated my mirrors more outboard than I thought I would need to. Seems that the mirrors look beyond the car's sides more than other cars. But remember, this thing is only 61 inches wide, so the mirrors need to be canted outward more than on wide bodies. There still may be a blind spot, but after readjusting the mirrors, I don't find it any worse than other vehicles I've owned.

This thread is a joke, right? Has the concept of actually turning the head and LOOKING been completely lost? Sorry, but anyone who can't see their way around a car that's a little over 5 feet wide, and less than 9 feet long, needs to think about walking. I hear they do make little rear view mirrors for eyeglasses. Headlights also. Should solve the walking blind spot problem.

Where is this mythical blind spot? I have my mirror set so that the image in the side mirrors overlaps the one in the rearview mirror. Also, as with all cars, I turn my head to check for a car on the right but have never seen one there that didn't show up in the mirror or wasn't obviously next to me.
Cars with the the worst blind spots are Chrysler Sebring Convertible (top up) and the Pacifica. You can lose a semi in those.

Since driving our smart nearly 1000 miles, I've found the 'Blind Spot' to be perceived. I look in the drivers side mirror, turn my head and look back (3' to the back of the car) It's just strange there is no car back there!! No fender, no trunk, I can't see the rear wheel; I'm nearly sitting on it. Driving this vehicle does take some getting used to. Thanks xcrew, I thought I was the only one!!

Agreed, I have no blind spot. Just before I loose sight of a car in the interior mirror it shows up in the outside mirrors and can be seen in the outside mirrors till it comes into my peripheral vision when I turn my head slightly to look in the outside mirrors.
The thing that seems to be a problem for many id that using the settings the I use, none of your own car is visible in your outside mirrors, but you are not looking for your own car anyway
