A book on smart cars worth buying.

I was chosen as one of the lucky reviewers to receive a newly published book by Veloce Publishing in Dorchester, England. It's a MUST HAVE in my opinion. It's official title is "the little book of smart" by paul jackson (notice they copy the lower case letters just like smart did, and it's not a typing error on my part). This little book is square shaped and is 5.5 inches across, and 128 pages long. Almost every single page is plastered with beautiful photograph(s) of our beloved smart cars. It traces the history of the car with a pictorial representation to go along with the very accurate written narrative. Along the way they have lots of pictures of all the different models including the roadsters and the forfour models.although it does not seem to show any pictures of the special adaptions for the Canadian versions. This book would be worth it's price for the pictures alone. It's suggested price on the cover is $14.95 USA but it's listed on Amazon.com in the $10.00 plus change range. This little book won't take up a lot of space (something it also has in common with the smart car).

If you've not seen this book in your bookstore and chances are you have not, since Borders lists it as having not arrived, yet. Should you be seriously interested, you can also go out to "www.velocebooks.com" and see sample pages and text on their website. It also boasts as being the most up to date book on the market for the smart car, and since it has quite a bit about the 2008 models, I whole heartedly agree.

The fact that they use glossy paper for their pages make the color photos reproduce splendidly well and makes it a real collector's item (also just like the car).
I highly recommend that every smart car owner take a look at this book.

I really like "smartism" too** It's a softcover coffee table book, very artsy and informative. Goes over how MB thought this car up over 30 years ago, and shows all the development stages. Also goes through the technical aspects of each model, shows the prototypes, and even has tons of pics of owners with their cars...

My copy arrived in the mail from Amazon.com yesterday

Not bad at all. It is little, but decently thick and has a lot of good images.

It was more of a quick read, but I took it to the office and left it on my desk - it got a few good looks by people walking by.

I have a copy of "A Smart Story" as well... that's another honorable mention.
