Brabus Shocks

Does anyone know who manufactures the shocks? Does Brabus make their own, or do they outsource the shocks and label them as Brabus?

Thanks

Thanks! Will they accomodate springs from other manufacturers? Or only Brabus springs?

What is your opinion of these shocks - and do you know what exhaust is used. Thanks for your expertise!

That is very interesting. I wonder if they are tuned any differently

They are, apparently the Brabus shocks are worse than the standard shocks.
Just throw some lowered springs on if you don't want to buy a fit kit.
Bilstein are about to release a lowered spring and shock kit.

Worse? meaning softer?
Are the soon-to-be released Bilsteins a coilover system? This is for the 451, correct?

Was my question that bad or was / is it unanswerable ? I'm considering a Brabus orphan. Again, thanks!

As said before, Brabus shocks apparently aren't as good as standard shocks, it's only what I have heard from BIG Performance. They have been removing the Brabus shocks and replacing them with standard ones and geting better handling from them.

Brabus suspension only drops the car by 1cm, that isn't worth the effort.

The exhaust is a Brabus branded piece of crap, always have been.
They use poor quality stainless that rusts in no time, the tips tarnish badly and they barely increase performance at all.

This will probably be no better than standard with the strange USA exhaust setup reducing the power in the first place.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. Anyone who buys a USA Brabus needs their head examining.
You are better off getting a normal smart and modifying it.
