Buy or Lease

For years i wanted to buy my upcoming Smart. My baby should arrive in 4 weeks.
Today the lady doing the paperwork at mercedes asked me if i wanted to buy or lease it.
For the first time i did not know what to say. I told her i would let her know when the car arrives.

Did anyone here lease the Smart ?

In all the years I have been driving, 47, I leased one car a number of years ago. I will never lease another car, I had to park the car the last 60 days of the lease because I had used the 80,000 miles on the lease and it would have cost way too much to pay the additional milage. I never felt any ownership in the car and only did the minimum necessary to keep it running, I hated not owning the car and at the end of the lease had no equity in the car.

i was told by my dealership that the smarts were not having the lease option in the first year...

That's what I was told, too. I wanted to lease ** I always lease to keep my payments down. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy this time and do a 60 month loan. I'd much rather do a 36- or 48-month lease if I could.

I was told they're not leasing because they don't know what the residual value will be yet.
