A/C question

I took a trip with my Smart a few weeks ago and for the very first time, I turned my A/C on. It blew nothing but hot air for atleast the first 10 minutes before it suddenly started to cool down. I thought for sure I was gonna have to visit my smart center, but it has worked fine ever since. Has this ever happened with any one else. Does it have anything to do with the location of the different A/C parts being on opposite ends of the vehicle?

Yes, however there should be a liquid line receiver on the smart to provide liquid refrigerant prior to the compressor and condensor section being in full operation. Strange operation, but not something I would run to the dealer for unless it is a persistant issue!! It shouldn't take 10 minutes to start cooling!!
