I think I definitely want the convertible. Although it's technically going to be my husband's car. After all, we are trading in his gas guzzling truck to get it. But on the days he has to haul stuff around for work we'll trade cars. The smart dealer is actually running the numbers on the cabrio for us right now then they'll call us back to see if it's even an option for us. Even if we end up getting the coupe I'll still be happy. Please keep leaving comments I'll be checking them all weekend until we decide for sure!!!
If you DON'T get a Cabrio, you miss out on so much fresh air and FUN. The fact that you can open and close it at any speed makes it that much more FUN. One more thing, read my lips GO C A B R I O.
Test drove the Cabrio, ordered (and now drive) the Coupe.
Could have gone either way, but the blind spot was larger in the Cabrio, the rear window was smaller, and I didn't care for the wind noise, even with the top up.
Love my smart coupe, love the clear roof (almost as large as the clear roof in my Vette).
Still waiting for my "commuter coupe". But if we did not already have a ragtop mustang, I would be waiting for a "fun cabrio". Open/no top is the only way to ride.
I agree with the poster who said if they did not offer the Cab i would not have bought a for 2. The ease of dropping the top really rocks as well. The other day i stopped at a red light next to someone with a black Coup stock, I have a black Cab with some extras. We looked at each other and smiled. Then she rolled down her widow and said ''Dam, I should have bought the convertible! I am in Jersey and we had a cold winter. It took some time to warm up inside on cold days. I don't think its noisy at all. I bought it on ebay with 4500 miles for a price that seemed 2 good 2 be true, It was not, The car was perfect, Just got lucky or blessed depending on how u see it. The price difference was keeping me from buying the Cab and i would not have bought the Coup even for a good price. If u think you would like the feeling of whipping around in a Cab with the wind blowing through your hair and a smile on you face, Your choice is made. Ps this forum has been such a help. Thanks to all!
I have a cabrio and I love it. I walk up to the car and first thing I am doing is letting the top down to let the heat out and also so that I can enjoy the day. Windows down just not do justice over a Cabrio. If you live in a HOT area, TOP down is nice. Pano roof I hear gets real hot. So, to correct that you need a top sun sheild. To me that is a bother. It should not be HOT if made right, but they are using Plexi type glass, so no way around it.
Other then that, it comes down to personal preference
I am a happy camper with my solid roof pure, but if money were not an issue, id would have gotten a cabrio. That is simply that my last car had a sliding sunroof and i miss being able to open that baby up every nice day id get some fresh air in my hair and all the windows open, so if you can get a cabrio, then id say YOU GO GET ONE!!!!!
I have a coupe with a panoramic roof. I test drove a cabrio, but it really wasn't for me.
The trunk opening on the cabrio was too small for me to comfortably get my suitcase in, the rear window was a bit too small (and I would have missed the rear wiper), I didn't want to have to worry about a top being worn out or being slashed should I ever go into a bad area, and finally - it seemed to mute the engine a bit too much for me when it was down/up. I like to hear it working - and at highway speeds when I stuck my foot down, it was inaudible with the top down - and seemingly muffled with it up.
