Cabrio Owners - Happy with the sound system?

When I went to my dealer a while back to test drive the smartie - they only let me test drive the passion. But I am getting a cabrio and I know the standard sound system is more elaborated than the passion's. So I am wondering if you are happy with it or you just hate it that at the earliest possible, you'll be yanking the thing out to put in something else in there... Inquiring mind needs to know

I'm no audiophile, but I think the sound is great. But it is very noticable that the speakers are in front of you. I will put a set of speakers in the back some where. The stereo doesn't have a fade control though. Just picked up my cabrio yesterday.

I, too, am no sound system connoisseur, but I am quite happy with the sound. I would agree that speakers in the back would be a plus, but personally I won't be adding any. The sound is good for me.

Congrat GiantKiller on your brand new baby!!! Could you please tell me when did your car arrive in Baltimore? Mine arrived on 2/17 and my dealer has not called me or heard anything as of yet?!?

It unloaded from the cargo ship Tameralane on Jan 28. recieved the 30 day notice on feb 1st.

The sound system that comes standard in the cabrio is also available in the Passion coupe as an option.

The upgraded sound system plugged into your IPOD ROCKS!!!
Even with the top down plenty of Bass. I'm very pleased with it. I would never think of doing or adding anything aftermarket to my SMART.

I blasted my cabrio sound system on Sunday with the top down on another sunny but chilly day. I traveled on the NJ Turnpike for about 30 miles and the sound rocked for sure!! Regina

Works fine for me too! Top down (or at least 1/2 open) most of the time.
