Man, I played MANY of those games !!

Go west

Look west

I always typed one when I meant the other......

I was so geeky, I actually had a pencil and big sheet of paper next to my blazing fast Atari 800XL PC so I could "map out" where I was going.

Ah, the old days.....

I take mine out if I plan on keeping the top down all day.

Valiant attempt by smartdigger to get this post back on topic....

I put my top up at every stop. The last thing I want to walk out to is bird crap on my leather seats. Plus it keeps the seats cooler.

I can park in the middle of nowhere, and a bird will find me....

In about a month of ownership, my rails have been on maybe twice. I have a garage to protect from bird additions/take my chances elsewhere. We are having an exceptionally cool summer in MI this year, but the "newness" and "never owned a cabrio before" factors combined with heated seats allow me to drive to early AM running-club when it's only 51 F outside.

I didn't have any problem running with the roof back when temperatures were in the 50's either (I LOVED the 60s!). I DO have a problem when temperatures are 85+ though.

In the 'little over a year' I've owned the car, I've had the rails out, perhaps, 4 or 5 times. My roof on the other hand has been back hundreds of times.

April through October it's too hot most of the time. During those months I get some roof back time when it's overcast, as well as sunset-evening. The rails are more for show than for my pleasure. Seems to me they don't really make that much difference even 'for show'. But, mainly they're just not as convenient as hitting a switch.

With 1698 miles on the cab we have never taken the bars out. My wife likes to put the top down at night when it cools down to about 90 here in TX. Nothing like running the A/C with top down.

I take the bars off if I'm in my own neck of the woods. Going into town (South Bend, Indy, Chicago) I leave the bars on. I like the safety of being able to hit a button and put the top back up in the big city. I'm always worried some thug will reach in and steal my purse or something.

The old (very old) computer game The Oregon Trail.

You can still get it on ebay for $4.99!
