Cabrio removeable bars creaking?

Anyone else have the removable bars on the Cabrio top that creak? When the top is in the closed position I can hear it on bumps but its not bad, but when I roll the top back (push the button and let go) its really noisy.

Dealer said lots of complaints but nothing can be done about it, has anyone else experienced this and any resolutions?

yeah i hear creaks on right side, but it doesn't get worse with the top back. probably no solution unless you can find some lubricant of some sort.

Removeable bars

I've set up my cabrio bar permanently and I try to stay on the interstate to avoid sloshing.

Oh, THAT bar...

No, I don't have any weird noise when lowering the top or driving.

How cold is it right now where you live? My Boxster used to creak when it was cold out, but a bit of silicone spray on all of the rubber and plastic wear areas solved the problem.

While we on Bars, anyone had an issue with the rubber tacky seal wanting to stick to the front of the car where it meets? My passenger side is all whacked and looks like spider web when I take it off. Going to be talking with the mechanic tomorrow about it along with my steering having a grinding noise.

Yet again this is a problem we have had in Britain, and solved easily.
Get some silicone grease for rubber lubrication, can be found at all good car accessory shops, and coat all the rubber parts and that stops the rattles and squeeks.
Also put the grease into the running rails and it helps the roof to retract and saves the motor.

Agreed. I found some silicone rubber lubricant in an auto mag. and applied it to the hard rubber that goes around the inside of the door sill on my coupe because there was rubber to rubber squeak everytime I hit a bump. Took care of the problem perfectly. It has even survived several washes and still does not squeak. I will be getting my cabrio this weekend and will know what to do now.
