Cabrio won't drop...

So I went to open my top last night and it rolls back to position 1 but it won't drop down. I called my dealer, and he can't get the car in until July 6th.

Anyone else have any issues with the Cabriolet top like this?

Your dealer has a two week wait just to look at a car? Any chance you have another dealer within 100 miles? If they can't even get you in for two weeks, I dread how long it would take to replace a part.

Sadly, the next dealer is about 5 hours away, so that isn't really an option for me.

Several FAQs on Evilution - Smart Car Encyclopaedia on the Cabrio top but it all appears related to the 450 version.

Make sure the "backdoor" is securely closed - I have to "slam" mine sometimes to get is COMPLETELY close. Make sure the bars above the doors are fully clicked in position. The backwindow panel must be securely (clicked) close also.

There is a separte motor for moving that part of the top ... might there be a fuse for just that motor?

The back window is locked down (opened and closed it a bunch of times) and no go... I will climb under the car tonight and just double check fuses, I just assumed the system would have been fused on 1 fuse.

The top will drop down even if the rear window is up. I know, personally. I was loading groceries in the back with the tail gate down and the window up. The wifiepoo goes around to the driver's side and proceeds to open the top, completely. It will fully open and drop the window down and lock it in place. There has to be some switching involved that is not making contact.

Yeah I know that you push the button twice I just hope this isn't an early sign of issues with using the top...
