Can the Fortwo make it up a 6% grade highway, 3 miles.

I am thinking of getting the Fortwo but I was wondering how it would do on the big hill of my daily commute.

The hill I am talking about is the hill from the 91 up the 241 tollroad in southern California.

It's about a 5% to 6% grade over a total of 3 miles. Cars in the fast lane go about 80 mph up that hill.

Yes; probably won't be doing 80 mph at the top though.

I have a mile long 10% grade to climb, and the fortwo makes it up just fine. Needs to be shifted down into 4th to do it, but then my Tahoe needs 3rd (out of 4) to climb the same hill.

I'd stay out of the fast lane on that hill, though. You might be able to climb it in 5th, but I doubt you'll be maintaining 80 mph.

Absolutely - in 4th. Buzz it a little and you'll even keep up with every one else...
