Your order will be assigned to a dealer based on your zip code and as far as I have been able to determine you will not be able to change it. I tried to change my delivery and was told by PAG that I could not.
On the otherhand once you have your Smart you can get it serviced at whatever dealer you wish.
I was told by PAG that I could change my dealer, I objected to the doc fees and want to change to a California dealer. They told me to call one week after I configure my smart and they would update my file (change my zip code to my brother-in-laws).
PAG will ship the car to what they think is the nearest open dealer. My advice is to see which dealer they pick and if you don't agree speak up ASAP. I should have done that with my diverted delivery; it would have saved a lot of hassle. Lesson learned.
Atlanta is my closest. NAP. I'm driving there next week. JWRIGHT my concern was that smart might hold my order and build until summer. Thanks for the tip.
