Cancel reservation?

Here's what "Kaneda" said:

"reserved Feb. 7 '08 , config. Sept. 16 , delivery posted for feb... i was told 18+ month wait when i dropped the $99"

But with all the additional orders and then taking into account all the possible cancellations, it's really difficult to estimate the wait until 'configuration'.

Again, if the $99 isn't an issue, I would recommend that you just 'wait it out', configure it when asked and whenever it comes in, see where you are and if you still want to orphan it.

Even though you canceled your reserved smart there are a lot of orphans becoming available, you can probably just go to a dealer when you get ready and pick out the one you want.

Yea, I've been told that. It's just that I want what I want and I'm not so sure I would accept anything else. There's only a couple things I'm flexible on. But I got an email from Walter at SCI and told me that since I canceled several weeks after my configuration, chances are 'my' smart will still be made and shipped to SCI. He said that 'if' they do get it, that he'll give me 'first chance' at it. Pretty nice of him. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what everything is like in a couple months to make a decision.

But getting back to this thread, I still would tell 'paroboy' to NOT cancel and ride it out.

I had one of the first reservations in back in March of 07 that I cancelled. I REALLY regretted doing it when I started seeing smarts around. This is actually my second reservation but I grabbed an orphan a month after making it. Just wondering when the media will start making a big deal about how many cancellatins there are. The way they blow everything out of proportion, it will be the colapse of smart!
