Car got hit while parked

Wife took car to pick up gift for friend's wedding at mall. Came back to the car and someone had backed into the driver's side front panel but did not leave a note. Looked like they had a tow hitch because there is a square imprint on the white panel. Just reported it to my insurance and will stop by dealership on Monday to see if they have any spare white panels. Just in case there is a long dealer delay, can you suggest which vender sells panels? I might direct my insurance company to them if the dealer wait is lengthy. Thanks

Hey Postmark,

I think you'll find that the parts can be rounded up pretty quickly. I had a headlight mishap and after sc tysons ordered a new one, the part came in from Europe within two weeks. I'm sure linsay sc will be equally efficient.

best of luck,

OMG! Another reason 3/4 of the ppl out there driving trucks should not drive em. They can't drive em. They need to drive small cars due to they have no skill for driving the big ones. OMG! Poor Smarty!

I totally agree!

QUICK NOTE: If you drive a large vehicle, respect the others that share the roadways with you, and please pay attention as you come out of parking spaces. Also, if you do hit an unoccupied vehicle, leave a note!

I admit it, I am a SUV driver (for now) and due to their enormous size and plenty of blind spots, I have to keep more than full attention to the road (always predict the worst). You really have to focus just to pull out of a spot. Which is why my Driver's Ed. instructor says that they're good cars to practice in. I'm okay with my mom's Envoy XL. But really, I think SUVs and trucks should be used for what they're meant for: Utility, Off-road, towing, groups of people.

If you carry less than 5 passengers, you don't need an Excursion, try a sedan or even a crossover!

I hope your Smartie has a full recovery!

Speaking of SUV/Truck drivers that are not considerate I almost go ran off the road because I was not turning as fast as she wanted. She nearly ran me over and jerked around my right, nearly hitting another truck, and took off honking at three other cars in front of her and flipping me off. I dont hate truck/SUV drivers, I dislike those who give them a bad name. Like her!

Geeze!

Geez! I had the very same thing happen to me yesterday! People don't bother to look at the oncoming traffic (and often can't see it)! This person nearly got hit by the car I was waiting for! Would have served HER right if she got hit.

I just got my driver's side door keyed by a disgruntled former student (college student no less). I talked to James at Smart Buckhead and the driver’s side door panel is $296.53 + tax & labor.

Great price. Now I hope they have the panel in stock or can get it quickly. Thanks for the info.
