I'm trying to figure out why the car just suddenly started doing this.

Good luck with the battery disconnect reset!!

I would think that IF that were the case, it wouldn't happen in just 5th gear !?

I would "reteach" the tranny and see what happens

so i tried disconnecting the battery and reconecting it back and tryin it again and it seems to be doing the same thing you start to drive once you get into top speed for some time after 4th it dosent want to change gears or shift its like your locked into that gear untill you come to a stop put in netural and turn off the car and turn it back on ,,soon as the 3 bars on the dash starts flashing thats it your stuck at that gear the trany wont shift or do nutin..seems like there,s a problem with the tranny not knowing what gear its in so it shuts down ...anyone have this problem..

Before you go to the more complex diagnosis process, check your battery voltage - if you've got a 450 and have a few years into the car, there's a possibility that low voltage is confusing the computer, especially if you've got lights or other things on, or an alternator starting to go bad. Voltage should be at least 11.5 (preferably higher) with engine and lights off first thing in the morning, or 13+ volts while running. Low voltage will affect computer signaling, headlights, even shifting - remember, that's an electric motor that drives the shift process. It was evident when my 451 had the smaller, 42Ah battery - after 8 months, shifting was slower, and the lights dimmed between gears.

Sounds to me like The Three Bars of Death (TM)

Rather than going on about it here, I direct you to our friend Dr. K. Harrison

i have lots of battery power so that cant be the problem but ill check it ayways ....and for the web site i checked it and it gives you alot of options to go through to find out the problem ..acording to the diagnosstic scanner that i have that i pluged in and it came up speed sensor but i put a new one in and still the code comes up the same thing ...and the abs light blinks on and off once in a while and the triangle stays on ,on the dash...????something is wierd here...and the three bars show up flashing..
