A story about my Dad’s car.
When he bought it...the dealership had been opened all of a few weeks. Other people told him the car was a fad, a joke, unsafe. The car was made by a large auto maker overseas. And while he had a hard time getting tires and a few parts had to be ordered at the dealership and not down at Pep Boys...the high MPG and overall economy was worth it.
When we would go out some people would ask us what it was....who made it. Other people seemed angry with our choice of car. It did look a LOT different...and it was small. I thought it was neat.
Story of Dad’s new 2008 Smart? No....story of my Dad’s 1964 Datsun 411....
My point? As I read things post here and on other automotive boards it started sounding familiar. As a 6 year old kid I had been through this before.
I can only hope that the Smart story comes out as well....I think it will....
