If Max knows that it is shipped, he should know the VIN. That is the only way to know if it is shipped. BTW, Mine was built around early January and shipped around Feb 2. They do alot of inspections before shipping. Call and ask WALTER if he has your VIN.
Got an e-mail a few minutes ago from Max re: my VIN. I put it into the tracking system but it doesn't show any record so it's obviously not on its way....OR.....the system is flunky. Here's why I hope that - I put in one of spdickey's test VINs earlier in the thread and it also said "no tracking information available." Even if the VIN has arrived (as spdickey's would have by now) wouldn't the system retain record? If so, for how long?
I do not know how long, maybe until the ship gets back to Germany. My VIN is still in the system. It is possible that your car is build but not loaded yet. I got an email from both MAX and Walter when my car was in Baltimore...that was a week and a half ago.
I am in the same situation, I have a VIN but nothing shows up on the web-site. My guess is the car is sitting at the factory waiting to go to Bremerhaven or sitting at the port waiting to be loaded. Bremerhaven is one of the busiest ports in the world with a huge amount of autos shipping out of there.
Basically, on it is on the water it is about 14-16 days to the US and who knows how long at the US port clearing customs and going through inspections.
At least I have a VIN and know something is going on...
Well I didn't receive my 30-day email (lost in the ether...), but my dealer supplied me with my VIN today. Tried the website, no joy either
My dealer says they got the 30-day notice for me on the 26th. Early VINs in the thread were 08xxxx, my is 12xxxx range. The rest of the decoder digits in the VIN match up to an 08 smart 451 coupe, so I think there is no type-oh.
Waiting in the queue as others "in line" next to me / behind me are zooming away (even in may region / dealer) in their delivered smarts. Ugh.
I have come to the understanding that there is no system here. I have a confirmation number of 1184. I got the 30 day email on the 1st of this month and my dealer is saying that my car is to be on the lot on the 8th. I know everyone is chopping at the bit like me, but it all comes down to waiting. I have a VIN to arrange for insurance, but my car is coming out of Jax port, so there is no way of tracking.
I wish everyone good luck on getting your smarts in a timley manor, but expect some delays. If they say in two weeks, expect three to four. If it comes in before then it will be a bonus.
I don't think the whole process is up and running like it was designed.

Yellow/Black/Leather Passion......
well, we got one VIN in the other thread that was a 105xxx two weeks earlier then you, so I guess they (the VIN's, not the cars) are really moving along!
(wish more people would post their VIN vs config dates here to keep track of these things!)
My dealer provided me with a VIN today. I am using that VIN to obtain insurance quotes, but thought, "What the 'heck' ", might as well try to track the shipment process.
I don't get any results for that VIN when I use the URL in the original post on this thread.
I live in Atlanta so my vehicle will most probably arrive via the Port of Jacksonville, FL. Any ideas on how to track cars arriving there?
Shipping schedule from Bremerhaven (use Long Beach for the EXPORT) <**** I found this one to be very useful for us <people in west coast> because NYKLine schedule is hard to find. http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L=0

Bremerhaven, Ger to Long Beach, CA ro/ro schedule: is the attachment
By using the dbh site, I find five NYK vehicle carriers, Graceful Leader, Coral Leader, Glorious Leader, Global Leader, and Phoenix Leader, all transiting between Bremerhaven and Long Beach, arriving in Long Beach between 14 March and 18 April, but we don't have a way to know what's on these ships, at least until the NYK site is up. Is that right? Will that site offer the same information the east coast people have with Wallenius Wilhelmsen site?
