Earliest arriving Smarts and the ratio of Cabs to Coupes

The ratio of the early deliveries could also possibly indicate that an inordinate amount of the 'EARLIEST' reservers have chosen the Cabriolet over the Coupe.

It's almost impossible to predict what the numbers mean with any certainty without knowing more data. As a #1173 reservation holder and one that has reserved a Cabriolet, I find the ratio to be very promising...(grin a huge grin).

It's almost to the point where I don't want to get away from my telephone for fear I'll miss that long anticipated call. I'm sure there are thousands of other people sensing this same sort of 'anticipation'.

You bet there is. My wife said to me this morning...after wishing me once again a happy new year....." you will be getting your Smart car THIS YEAR!"

Boy did that hit home!!!

Very cool... Looks like mine was unloaded yesterday in Baltimore (I assume that's what discharged means).

DISCHARGED BALTIMORE, MD 10/01/2008 08:00
LOADED ON VESSEL BREMERHAVEN 21/12/2007 10:08
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL BREMERHAVEN 21/12/2007 10:07
BOOKED BREMEN 19/12/2007 14:44

Shouldn't be long now!

Just received my VIN from the dealer. I put in the info on the tracking site and it says no tracking info available. It is supposed to be in transit now. Any Ideas?

I have the same issue. Dealer believes it is already in JAX but I'm unable to confirm.

I notice WWL does not use Jax as a port, so they are being transported from another port or they are being shipped on another shipping line.

I'm pretty sure they are going into Brunswick. There is a boat coming in tomorrow and a few around the 15th and 18th.

From what MIKE T at clubsmartcar.ca is thinking, smart is not using WWL for deliveries in JAX and Long Beach. He's trying to see who is (perhaps NHK) and if tracking is available. No luck yet.

Correct. MIKE T has been unable to find out what shipping line is moving the smarts from Germany to Jacksonville and Long Beach. But we for sure know that the cars are there, sitting on the docks waiting for trucks to move them to our dealers.

The land portion should only take a 2-4 days at most since the longest drive is 1/2 way across the country, Long Beach to Seattle, or Baltimore to Denver (which is debatable if the Colorado cars are coming from the East or the West).

Which is why I'm glad Long Beach is 45 minutes down the 405 from Beverly Hills Mercedes. My car will be the last to leave port, and arrive at the dealership around Wednesday. It would be nice to "FedEx track" the car at every intersection <g>.

i think the goal is for all cars to arrive at all dealers at the same time. this way, the brand can do a monster launch with all of the hoopla. that said, even those of us who are close to ports might not be able to pick up our cars until all established dealers receive theirs.

complete speculation on my part, but i have a feeling this is what they are doing. otherwise, our cars could be delivered tomorrow in theory since many dealers are already open and the cars are sitting in LB.
