No list of American celebrity smart car owners would be complete without Sally Jesse Raphael, the talk show host with red-framed eyeglasses. She imported a smart car in one of the first years it was manufactured in Europe, and fought the good fight to get the US and NY state to license it as street legal. (She probably spent more just to modify hers than any of us has spent to buy ours.) Sorry if Sally isn't as cool as Hannah Montana, but we should honor the pioneers of our tribe.
