I tried to change dealerships but they said my car needs to be shipped first then change can be made. I want to change to columbus from cleveland since I am closer to dealer in columbus (time of travel) columbus is 5 mile farther for me to drive but on opposite side of city which means no trafic to drive though.

When that happened to me, I called the dealer where I wanted mine delivered. They took care of making the change in the system and the car was delivered to them.
I wanted to change my dealership from the one assigned when I configured. I called smart, and they told me I should call back and request the change once I am in the 90 day to delivery window.
After I was notified my car was scheduled to be shipped in May, I called SmartUSA to change the dealer of delivery. I was told it was too late. Since the car was already in the system to be shipped, I could not change dealers.
Now the fact that the dealership I was assigned is owned by Roger Penske might be an extenuating circumstance??????
