I'm not sure about the 09s, but I think that they had some battery problems, too. My 08 had some electrical issues, and while that code never came up, I did end up having the battery swapped out. Since then, I've had no problems.

I just bought a OBD II usb connector for laptop and from a guy in Hong Kong for 30 bucks. Seems to be working fine in my Vista, and works great with some software I downloaded that tracks MPG, all the sensors in real time, 1/4 mile speed and everything else. Really nice stuff. Going to test it out later and log my car on when to shift and what not for optimum MPG.

BTW, some auto stores will loan out the scan tools for use.

David, What brand and model diag reader did you get?? Were you able to clear the code with this device?

I understand the "Scangage" brand unit will not clear codes which is why I never bought one. A2Jack.

I've used the Scangauge to clear codes but my understanding is that there are some it's not "allowed" to clear such - for example, whatever code happens when you get the airbag/seatbelt warning light.

I had the same error code. Purchased Actron Auto Scanner Plus CP9180 at AutoZone $179. needed to use up my reward points. Cleared it and has not come back on. I do run a 200W inverter in the sig lighter to charge my cell phones on my 78 mile comute to work. Gettin 44MPG 2009 passion with 600+ miles.

just to confirm mvaldes post. scangauge can NOT clear the airbag warning light.

personal experience: passenger seat was removed without disconnecting the battery. and when the seat was put back, the airbag came on. lucky for me, this happened the same week as my 2.0 upgrade appt. so the dealer took care of it during that visit.

Scangauge will clear ENGINE fault codes. but not ABS, SRS or other codes. Just clearing the code will not keep it from re-appearing if the original problem is not fixed.

i had this code pop up on my scangauge the other day i was jamming out at night and it was cold so the battery was really working hard to keep up with the demand

i believe this is a low battery warning of some sort
