Phoned the Seattle smart center yesterday and learned that they're open but have no demonstrators or cars for delivery yet. Sounds like they expect demonstrators on, or after, the 15th. They apparently don't have a list of clients yet either. I was assured that they would be contacting me as soon as they have information about my order.

Talked with the dealer this morning and found out that the software program dealers are to use to track thier cars is NOT operational. Expected date = next week. That means that No one can track their car yet. Perhaps if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone..... Anyway I don't know a soul so I'll just wait.

Blue/Black Passion w/Comfort pack. I live in Vancouver, Wa. My dealer is Kuni in Portland Or. (15 miles away) I like the idea proposed that when we get our cars, we share our carbuying experience in the forum. I'm sure we all have questions. Are prices negotiable? If planning to trade in a car, is a fair trade in offered? If you make your deal on the car, can you drive it home or is there a further wait? Things like that could be a help to those whose number has not come up.

Okay 1173s here's what I've heard.

Early reservers will get an email from smart USA on Thursday directing us to our dealer and giving us info on our car delivery.

That same day, your dealer should have his list and begin trying to contact you.

Dealers will officially open Monday, January 14th.

Cars start rolling next week to arrive at all dealers on/by January 16th. Departures will be staggered from Long Beach, Jacksonville and Baltimore so the cars should all arrive on the same day no matter how far from the port they are. Denver? I've heard both, that your cars are coming from either Long Beach, or Baltimore. No matter, its timed so everyone should get their cars on the same day.

Initial allocations I've heard vary from just a few demos and dealer cars to as many as 65 plus at some dealerships. The dealers will know most all when FedEx shows up with their packets including smart Connect passwords and the lists. They could arrive as early as tomorrow.

Some dealerships don't have state licenses, yet, so that might stop a few from delivering a car. Others haven't completed building inspections and final smart sign offs. But that is continuing.

The beginning is almost here!

Any chance that January deliveries will include anything but 1173, I'm thinking that the more rural dealers like South Orange County folks kept to the old addage of Manana and did not rush to reserve like the Johnny on Spots of Beverly Hills ;)
