Someone tell me if anything is different for the smart, but I've always been told to follow these two rules on really cold days to keep your fuel lines from freezing, short of having a heated garage.
1. Never let your car sit overnight with less than half a tank of gas. If it's below -10, I never let it get below 3/4 full at the end of the day.
2. Before starting, hold down the gas pedal slightly for four seconds.
I haven't done #2 since getting the smart, and it hasn't had a problem, even with our recent -20 weather.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but:
#2, the smarts gas pedal is by wire. holding it down does no good before starting... If I rememeber that correctly.
It was -25 below this morning here in the Twin Cities, MN and I do park my smart in the garage, but it started fine, and last night it was like -15 outside when I left work and it started just fine, like it was 30 above.
My car isn't starting right now. The car was not driven all week and the battery is almost dead. Looks like I should have run it to keep the battery topped off.
We don't get really cold days all the time, but they do happen. case in point, my Pure sits out in the open, and it was 12 degrees when i got out in the car. Starts immdeiately, and keeps on goin. Still love the car like there is no tomorrw.
No problems starting mine and it sits outside all the time. The wife says she saw the temp at -38f yesterday morning. Lowest I have seen so far is -28f. Latest weather reports say it is supposed to warm up this weekend.
