Compass?

I bought a jazzy new cab and it doesn't look like it comes with a built in compass. Does it? If so where is it located? If not does anyone know of a good aftermarket one? Most all of my previous cars going back to the mid 90's came with compasses.

Nope, no OEM compasses in smarts. No aftermarket magnetic compass will be reliable unless it has a whole bunch of compensators that only an expert adjuster can devine. If there is any add-on flux-gate type available, I think it will cost dearly. And probably more "stuff" than can be packed somewhere into a smart.

Don't feel bad....even the Jeep COMPASS doesn't have one, at least as 'standard equipment'. Go figure.....

I'm retired now, but yes I have, including an old K&E vernier sextant similar to the pictured. I haven't used my present Zeis micrometer drum sextant since retiring.
