Conformation Numbers Please?

This is a personal appeal to smartcar USA. Can we please get back to sending out confirmation numbers? It's Friday. It's well after the holidays. The first shipment of cars has gone out. The press is all over it. Everyone is happy. Now can we please get some more conformation numbers out there. This is going to take all year at this rate!

Question. If you car is going to arrive at the same time no matter when you configure it, why would you want to rush the decision on what you want to order?

Because we know things are progressing then. The config becomes a factory order. That's a big deal #1268 and waiting

I knew what I wanted my configurations to be from day one.

The best reason for waiting is the drop out factor. When they configure too early, more people will go through with it than if they took the order later when they really needed it. So its better for us who really want the car to let the folks who will drop out before they configure, then your car will arrive sooner, and less orphans. This assumes that your car will come out the same time, regardless of how long your order sits in the backlog before production.

Rush the decision? The group of people waiting for the expected next batch of confirmations paid their reservation fee last May/June. You think that is rushing a decision?

How long did you have to confirm? Less time than the May reservation holders. Did you feel rushed?

For the record, I know how I want my car configured. Why can't they just take my confirmation and let me forget about the whole thing for most of the upcoming year?

Never say never. You may find that you actually do wish to change, even if it is a long shot. If you were in their shoes you would also hesitate to put cars into a future production schedule that could result in an orphan. What they should do is SEND A PERSONALIZED EMAIL to EACH reserver telling them to be patient and giving them an approximation of their waiting time. This is their biggest failing.
