I've known the configuration that I want since Oct. 26, 2007. That was the day I made my reservation. I've read nearly every post on this forum and others. I've read every article that I could find on the internet about the smart. My configuration has never changed. I still want the same configuration since day one. They don't need to wait on me to make up my mind! It is made up and will stay made up. Now I just need smart USA to make up their mind about e-mailing me my chance to order my smart.

Worth repeating....

Carnut's thought..."What they should do is SEND A PERSONALIZED EMAIL to EACH reserver telling them to be patient and giving them an approximation of their waiting time. This is their biggest failing."

is exactly what needs to happen....

There are citizens who paid $99 to be insiders and they haven an expectation of being treated well as loyal brand enthusiasts and customers...

PAG got over 4 Million tax and interest free dollars as venture capitol out of all the INSIDERS.... the least they could do is treat all of us with greater respect ....

While nice to see one or two SCOA members actually got personal notes and phone calls from PAG leadership... (and I would never presume that all of us should get these calls) PAG/IB could have totally eliminated 60% of every post on this web site with a bit more personal communication and keeping their official web site updated and relevant...

On the other hand... the roll out, opening days, and first order deliveries seem to be progressing fairly smoothly... Worst we are hearing is exactly what we expect... some dealers in unregulated states are maximizing the profit margin with high side Dealer prep fees

While this sucks for folks in those states right now... it will be interesting to see how PAG handles this... I suspect some dealers may get personal scrutiny from PAG over this...especially if enough Florida Insiders demand Georgia delivery

I know I have a long time to wait.

I'd rather have my order in, and know I am in the pipeline for whenever it comes out. I've never read so many emails with titles such as "Outsized sch***g for you and your gf!" (taken directly from my spam folder...there is SO much wrong with that) in my life because of having to sift through my spam due to Gmail's good but overzealous spam checker. This is all out of fear that my confirmation will get lost, even though I know not to expect it yet, and even after making precautions to make sure smart emails are not flagged as spam.

I know what I want, and I'm not going to waiver.

That being said, I think it is a good business practice for them do go how they are going. Athough, right now they could have someone drop out on a mud brown fortwo with an army green interior, and someone will be there to buy it. 2 years from now, probably not - but they have the impulsiveness of buyers on their side right now.
