Proofreading what you write, and review of the use of commas could be a benefit as well.

BTW, you couldn't get out of high school spelling like that person did when I went to school.
Not in the box that I see in Firefox No "ABC", no check mark and no spell check.

There is no "spell-check" button in Firefox. HOWEVER, all misspelled words will be automatically underlined in red as you type. Right-click the word and a context menu will open and allow you to select the correct spelling.

Of course, that is only helpful if you know the correct spelling when you see it. If you can't look at a word and have an idea that it is not correct, then you are S.O.L.!

Well I used to write custom code for vB so I should put this out there. The spell check feature is not built-in to the forum software. It is browser dependent. Some versions of Firefox have it built-in, IE (*cough*) needs the add-on IE Spell installed, and Mac users don't need anything as it is already built-in to the OS X operating system. All vBulletin actually does is just trigger the browser to look at the text boxes and check it.

Consumer Reports Cars Blog

Can we get back on topic here?

Consumer Reports has since posted several follow-ups on their blog on the 2008 smart:

Smart: Consumer Reports Cars Blog

Still no glowing praise, but far from the harsh criticism they dumped on the 2006 model.

Wow, what a can of worms. It is nice to know that I am not alone in my disappointment with a society that promotes or defends such semi-literate posting. If one cannot be bothered to use complete words, to say nothing of correct spelling, then the reader is free to conclude that the thoughts contained within the post are also the product of an intellectually lazy or uneducated mind. If that is the impression that the poster intended then I submit that they were successful.
I will now return to my cave in the mountains where I live with all the rest of the dinosaurs.
