Conveyance Fee?

When I was presented with the final bill for my new fortwo, it included a $329 "conveyance fee." When I asked, the sales rep explained that it was to cover the cost of paper work.

When I bought my Prius 2 years ago, there was no conveyance fee. It's been 10 years since I bought another new car & I don't remember if there was one then, but I thought that conveyance fees were a thing of the past.

I'm wondering if these fees, which are slapped on at the end to pad the bill are standard around the country. What's your experience?

You must have bought your car in Hartford?
Check:
Dealer Fees
It's not that bad, compared to others...
Sorry. And enjoy many smiling miles.

Thank you, JP. Great stuff!

I could save $230 & go over to RI, which isn't too far from me, but then I'd lose the CT sales tax exemption. I guess you can't have everything.
