No I think we are confused, freezing rain is frozen rain. I was putting that in past tense. If the rain hits the surface and freezes on contact it is a freezing rain event. If it rains its wet....overnight it freezes for example would be frozen rain.

Like if you go into your freezer and pour water on a box it shall freeze, freezing stream...Or if its cold out and raining one could call it "freezing rain" but nothing is freezing, they are just cold.

Speaking of all of this freezing, I shall put an ice cube in a hot pan and watch it melt...I am that bored!

jefferios, have you been drinking tonight, LOL. Not to worry, it's ok. Freezing rain and frozen rain are not synonymous.
John said, "It's raining, and I'm freezing", doesn't mean John was observing freezing rain.

But, who cares, except us geeks?

I'm just kidding, of course. Your first paragraph just seemed to be a re-cap, other than the "freezing rain is frozen rain". I have to take issue with that.

Speaking of precipitation.. Has anyone tried a cover for their smart? I was kinda thinking it would be a great way to keep frozen stuff off your smart.

Telecomuting is tough when the power lines are down. But its still a better idea than driving in ice.

Oh, and I would justy call it an Ice storm.

and to add to the confusion, judging by the size and direction of the blown dangleing ice and the location, I would have to say it was realy just a realy cold wind storm off the water. The wind stired up the water, spraying it onto the shore where the air and surfaces were cold enough to freeze on contact. Their may have been no "rain" at all. I had seen an event like this in Lynn MA once.
