The Coolest Thing I saw

This was Saturday, when my roommate and I were waiting to hear from the Smart center's finance department. We went to the one in Dallas, over on Lemmon Ave.

They had one Smart already on display in the showroom. One of the sales reps got in and maneuvered it close to the tridion shell. Then another sales rep drove a black Smart right through the front doors and positioned it.

In the end, they lined up three of them on the floor. It was just so blinking incredible watching such maneuverability.

Never thought I'd see cars driving through a building's doors like that.

Heck, I see youngsters in Suburbans who drive like that everyday!

(Well, the traffic zipping part anyway.)

... where parking is concerned. I don't feel quite so uncomfortable being next to someone that pulled in a bit too close to the line now. I at least don't suffer from "crooked parking" now.

Yep. You're dealing with someone who's so fussy, she believes she should be in the lines nicely. Can't stand parking on a line or pulling in at a slant.

Psychobeth (our friend) had already warned us about that. I don't bother pulling up all the way. Halfway is the most I'll pull in.

I'm getting a little better lining up the rears already. Never had to worry about that before in these 19 long years of driving.

I had to pry open the owner's manual to turn off the intermittent wiper function on the rear wiper blade though. Hee... Lots of fun.

I would probably have been a bit freaked out about that.

Though I have to admit, when they gave me the key, I could swear the reds were multiplying. There were at least three reds waiting in their "test drive" area.

Hmm... I wonder how "I may be red, but I'm no Commie" would work for a window decal...

Yeah, me too, but it was so weird bc I'd never driven a smart before and was unused to the herky-jerkiness of the 08 (it bucks a bit when you're not used to it, right?).
