cosmetic repair of plastic panels

Does anyone have any ideas on repairing some tiny gouge marks on my rear bumper? Living here in the Big Apple, parking is still a blood sport.

cosmetic repairs

DW...
sorry, but I will be watching this thread closly!!! I myself, ran into a clawfoot bathtub in our garage and cracked the front fender. I did find out that the front fender will cost me $217 and change. But it is blue and can't be buffed so I will be purchasing that. I am thinking that because you have the yellow (I believe by looking at your avatar) touch up paint rather than buffing out is going to be how to work this out

What is this over-blown type-face, size, color supposed to convey? Do you shout a lot?

In Europe I've seen folks actually use small boat fenders tied to the front and rear of their cars to avoid contact parking.

I guess that is one way to keep them 'ship-shape'

gouges are, they may be able to be buffed out lightly. The color is all thru, isn't it? Even fine wet-o-dry (use wet) may be all you need to smooth them out. No power buffing...that may create too much heat and screw the plastic up making it hazy due to melting. A good body shop guy would know how to deal with it for sure. Having a custom mixed spray can of your color would also be a good thing to have since you will be repairing battle/parking damage as long as you go into the city.
Too bad smart didn't make some plastic filler the color of your car. Since there are not too many shades and colors to deal with, that should not be hard to do. Fill in the gouges, let dry, sand smooth and polish....
I'll have to ask my dealership about this...good question...

Old Smart Bold face type

Old smart. Sorry didn't mean to offend or seem like I was shouting. I was actually trying to underemphasize my stupidity in crashing into a bathtub in my garage. I meant no offense. And this is my normal font and typeset. Russ
