Cracked valve stems

Hi,
I've got a couple of cracked valve stems on my 2008 Smart Car. I can see the cracks with the naked eye but it hasn't affected tire pressure in either tire.
I'd like to replace them though.
I've done some research on this site and found two links to replacement parts:
http://www.amazon.com/Schrader-2002...1&keywords=schrader 20020&tag=viglink27742-20
That's the stem I want to replace.
Amazon.com: Schrader 20016 TPMS Service Pack fits Mercedes, single unit: Automotive
That's a service pack.
My question: do I need this service pack if my TPMS are working fine but only the stems need to be changed?
Happy 4th!

Get the service packs!! if the base gasket starts to leak, you will have to dismount the tire to replace it. If you are replacing the valve stems, why would you want to use a gasket that is the same age as the worn out stem?? Service packs are inexpensive (on Amazon) and not worth the risk of NOT replacing them in my opinion. they should be replaced whenever you change out a tire too.
