Crash Tests

I read with great interest, the report concerning how well the Smart did in the 'crash tests'. Further review showed an interesting point that has developed over the years in Europe. The Fire Departments have encountered problems extricating passengers from the Smart. Some of the European governments have mandated special studys which resulted in a special extrication card, shared by the various Fire Departments, that points out the locations of the battery, fuel tank, air bags, and points of chassis strengthening. My son is a Firefighter and regularly trains on junked cars to become proficiant in extrication. He agreed that such a card would be a great tool for them.
I think it would be a great marketing tool for Smart to distribute these cards to Fire Departments throughout the Country. Think about it.!!

Or to have a card posted in a strategic to-be-determined location in the car?

Just to let you know Sacramento Fire and many other departments already have a similar education program. The fire departments get bullitens on cars that have issues like the Smart car.... it is up to the department to require the staff to read up on these reports... If your fire department is any good they would force staff to keep up to date on the in-serivce bullitens
