Okay so I drove my Smart today on the NJ Turnpike. My speed ranged from 65 to 75 and hit 80 for a brief second. Now the wind was blowing from 15 to 25 mph so I found myself dancing on the Turnpike with the Smart.
The best I can describe it is as if you are driving a mini van on a windy day. At no time was I in danger but it wasn't relaxing either. After a while I accepted the movement, got use to it and even got better dancing on the turnpike with my Smart. ;)
I drive the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway every weekend putting on at least 200 miles on my smartie. They are great hwys when the wind is minimal and there is a definite dance to figure out if it's windy. Sunday was a bit windy but the 100% sunshine and no clouds made up for it especially in the seaside towns that I visited. Had my top down in 37 to 42 degree weather. Absolutely fabulous!! Regina
Oh yeah! The heat was on blast but not all the time. Mostly while pointing north but when heading down the shore, it was on low. This smart continues to be great fun especially since its a convertible!
I beg to differ, the hard top is a much better car....just kidding . But the heater in this thing is great. Unlike the old Beetle (the rear engine one), this thing gets hot in minutes after start up, I tested it this morning so its offical, certified fact and all of that stuff.
