Darn!!! No Tax Credit for Georgia!

Dear ......

Thank you for your interest in Georgia Low Emission Tax Credit Program. The tax credit is only available for the purchase or leasing of a new vehicle fueled Solely by an Alternative Fuel. Any vehicle that uses regular unleaded gasoline in part or whole, even though it is Low Emission, does not qualify for Tax Credit at this time.

Doggone it, but it was worth a try. Anybody know if the Smart qualifies for any kind of federal tax credit?

No federal credit either as it's not a hybrid. My credit union did say they give a .25% break on loans for cars rated above 30 mpg so that'll help a little.

haven't heard anything but I would be willing to participate. I am in DC right now until the middle of May and back again in Sept so if there's anything I can do let me know.

Its ok in the end of 2009 or 2010 when the SMART will release the MHD SMART FORTWO which will have micro hybrid drive. Then we will have that option for those who upgrade to MHD.
