I know this was mentioned somewhere, but the search brings up everything that has anything you search in it. My 3 month window is moving one day at a time. I think I remember that this means its in or close to being in production. Can someone shed some light on this?
I was able to call my dealer when it got to that point and find out what the date of scheduled production is.
At the moment, my DDE says November 24-Feb22.
Date of production was Nov 10, 2008
It was expected to arrive at Long Beach on Dec 12-13, 2008
Supposed to arrive at the dealer on 21 of December.
My dealer now says they expect to deliver it to me on the 2 January.
I hope I can find it ins their lot by the 31st as I do not want to pay the price increase. I think they might want to sit on it till the 2nd to collect the extra money.
I got a lot of information out of my dealer concerning the car, and yours should probably be able to tell you something at this point too. Some of them might not want to share or they just don't care about keeping us more closely informed, I don't know. I would just guess at this point though that you should be able to get it about 30 days from the first date in your DDE, many have had this experience...but others have not.

The dealer isnt telling me much except they expect it 30 days from the first date, but that date keeps moving. The upside to this is it allows for me to save more money, the down is that my wife has to make sure she dosnt work that weekend to pick it up.
you should definitely keep a watch out on the lot so you don't get the extra. Unless the truckers have been told to sit on it a few days. Good luck.
Only problem is the fact that the dealer is 120 miles from my house. I guess I need an excuse to ride my motorcycle anyway. Just need to go have my bank make me the check before I go get it, so I need to confirm with them who they want it made out to.
Shame, but after so long, a lot of the excitement has worn off, hopefully the car will be so much fun it will make it exciting again. I have honestly considered just not taking it, not that I can't afford it or anything...but I just really don't need it, and I question whether I should buy it. I guess it would break my sons heart though if I didn't take it...so it will come home....but I am only half hearted about it at the moment. I haven't has a cabrio since my last VW, and that was a fun car just cause the top went down...convertible will be good for me.

Ours started moving out a day at a time for about a month. Then it suddenly stopped and jumped back 4 days. Then it moved out one day at a time and froze four days later, and held for 2 days. Turned out that the FIRST date (the "jump back" date) was the date it was booked onto the cargo ship, and the SECOND date (the one it froze on) was the date it was actually put onto the ship. So, when you see your date stop and jump back, that means it's on the way.
