2009s to be built starting Sept 2008

So, for many (Dec 1 and later configurees), the progression looks something like this?:

-Reserve
-Configure
(DDE)
-Re-configure (2009 model) Add $6%+
(DDE)
-120 day notice
-30 day notice
-Delivery

Wouldn't you say "reserved" after Nov 07. I configured on the 1st of Febuary and the latest my car would be in my hands is August, thats certainly an 08.

P for P CT No, I did mean configured... There will be some weird couple of anomalies like the fellow in the north east who reserved in early 08 and configured real quick right after, will probably see a 08 car... this is the most extreme one I have seen here... you are a close second

But in general it seems a lot of 1300s, and some lower on reservation date, are seeing DDE times after Aug 08...

My 1215 (30 Apr 07) configured 15 Dec 07 is actually a high 9,900 to 13,900 (car) reservation number against 24,000 or so cars for 08...DDE has me in the April to July delivery (I was guessing May to July before DDE)

Anyway, back to your 1 Feb 08 config, and possibly a 08 car... where you are has a LOT to do with it... so it seems there are folks in the giant regional centers that have a earlier reservation then your 8/31/07 and are not configured yet

We know there thet nothing with smart USA is locked in stone, however, Dave Schembri told me last week that their current plans are to hold the current MSRP through 2009. He stated that they really want to be the only import car company NOT to take a price increase next year if at all possible.

Kwagar, if that end up being true......the business guru in me says they are really really sticking it to us this year.... The dollar has slid back over 31% since R Pensky made the MRSP decision last Sept ...... The share holders demand a RoE... unless the profit margine is unusually high, I see no way they can maintain 08 pricing in 09....... sounds fishy to me

Fred, The same thought came to my mind BUT!!!!! If it turns out to be true I still think its good news. I'm satisfied with what I paid for mine compared to the alternatives and the fun it has delivered to me so I'm not upset and if they hold the price through 2009 for those that have reserved that would be good news for all of them!

The biggest question is can it be true? Only time will tell but I hope it is.

I have to say that I am lucky as my dealership has a tiny area to cover. CT is small and we have 2 dealers. Plus their are 4 more just in the NY metro area, (plus some in Jersey) So when it comes to luck, I have it all in this respect. (luck never comes my way, I am shocked that I have gotten this much)
