Smart Center Las Vegas appears to have the highest Dealer fees in the West. They have quoted fees of $397 for document fees and $195 to etch the windows. These two fees are manditory. That is $597.
What are the fees in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah,
Colorado and Arizona?

VIN etching by the dealer is mandatory? Or is it only required that the VIN be etched by someone? As mentioned in other posts, many police departments provide this service free, and you can buy DIY kits for a lot less than $195.
PS - did a very cursory search of Nevada laws for the VIN etching requirement and didn't find it. I'd ask the dealer to show you the requirement in writing.
PPS - just noticed your location. If the car's being registered in Utah any Nevada requirement, if it exists, wouldn't apply anyway.

'maybe' "highest in the West". i didn't check the list, but if i remember correctly, Sarasota and Tampa Florida would be considered East or Southeast. that's like 'comparing apples to oranges'......
I called SmartUSA to change delivery dealerships, yesterday. They said I had to wait until my car was being routed. They said I would know know its being routed when I receive an email from the dealership. Of course, this makes me nervous, as I might not receive that email. They suggested I call again, as I get closer the opening of the DDE window. I understand that the new dealership may have to pay a 2% penalty. Currently, I'm leaning toward SC Universal City. They seem to have the best rep of SoCal dealerships. All California dealers charge just a $55 dealer fee. As a Nevada resident, one cost I have is that I must pay 8.75% CA sales tax, versus 7.75 NV sales tax. If I pay a lower tax, in another state, I have to pay Nevada the difference, at registration time.
Below is some information I gathered, that might help people decide what is best for their situation. Don't rely on that information, its just something I gathered informally, do your own research for more trustworthy information.
Oregon
Portland, OR-50.00 Dealer Fee
?? local sales tax

Since you are from Ohio do you know what the dealers in OH, KY and IN are charging? Thanks, Toxdan
