dealer swapping panels with an orphan

I configured my Fortwo late one night and ordered silver, when I really wanted yellow. What is the chance that my dealer will be willing to swap my silver panels for the yellow panels of an orphan? I would expect a no, but a silver Fortwo may be easier to sell than yellow. I would be willing to pay for the labor. I figured I'd ask here before I get my feelings hurt by the dealer.

no silver will not be easier to sell than yellow. Yellow is no longer everyone wants yellow

Don't put your feelings on the line. You're happy to do them a favor by paying them to keep their service guys busy. If they don't want to do it for a reasonable cost, it's their loss.

If the dealer can't or won't, just take delivery of the silver and then check out this thread:

Sure, yellow is discontinued but there just might be somebody who would rather have silver.


Or you can always arrange a smart club swap meet and greet and swatch your silver panels for somebody's yellows.

From what I was reading, you can order the Yellow panels, but you can not configure them to your car. Thus the 1500 for the complete set.
