Dealers-Few and far between-A worry for you owners?

I'm here in Cedar Rapids Iowa and would be interested in a Smart. My problem is there is no local dealer. Was that a concern for you owners and how far is a Smart dealer from you? Thanks!

It was for me, I purchase a car from the Minnesota dealership 4 hours from home. I install a scangauge2 into the car for less then 200 dollars and that really helps out. I've had the engine light come on and the scangauge gave me the fault code and also clear the engine light. I had that 3 bar problem this afternoon and the dealership arrange a rental car and a tow truck. Wait was only a hour for both. So if you purchase it from the Minnesota dealership you should be fine. It's been a good car and the only car we have been driving with the high gas prices.

May I ask what that is?

I'm in Arlington. Dealership in Dallas. Depending on traffic it can be 35 minutes to an hour or more depending on traffic. We do travel a bit so it was still a concern. Not enough of a concern to not get a smart though.

I'm about 4 hours away from the dealer - I don't worry about it.
