Maybe the deer got distorted and thought a swimming pool was coming at him (or her).

Thanks for the pictures.

Bum-bling-B- All I know is that there is a crack in the pool now and it must be leaking.

Thank you for all the words of comfort everyone. I actually have been a bit depressed today.

JanetMermaid--Kim and Dave are going to get me a front quarter panel from Orlando smartcenter and wrap it to match and ship it to the body shop. It should take a week or two. I bet it gets there faster than the windsheild!! OH...and the body shop says that they have no idea how to fix the airbag system. The car may have to be towed to a smartcenter and back afterall. 130 miles to the nearest ones. That should cost me a pretty penny. Oh well.

Meaux :/

I'm so sorry to hear about your car. My dad had a deer hit the side of his van when I was younger and insurance paid for it since it wasn't in front of him. Have you looked into that?

Einstein's Mommy-- Insurance is paying for it. However there are limits on towing coverage. They already towed it to a local body shop. And that was 35 miles away. The BEST thing would be if smart would let Mercedes work on smarts (i.e. give them directions and permission).

Meaux- It'll all work out, keep you chin up as things could of been MUCH worse. You're safe and the car can be fixed. I won't say it's just a car because I'm one of crazy people who think a little more differently than that for some inanimate objects.

Any chance you have AAA Plus ? They'll tow up to 100 miles... and I don't think they require a specific reason.

Glad to read you're ok, too. I know you had cruise set to 50, but I'm sure you hit the (very good) brakes as soon as you could... so do you have an estimate as to your collision speed? Just from my understanding of physics, I can't imagine you hit a deer half the weight of the car at 50mph and came out in one piece.

Supergeek, I wish I could say that I did, but I did not see the deer until its face was in the front window. THEN I hit the brakes. I am also amazed.

What are familias? I have AAA but not any special kind. We will see what happens in the next few weeks.
