Bought a 2008 used Passion a month ago from the dealer. It had 5,000 miles on it. And figured that adding the extended warranty would be a great thing since it was a used car and could benefit from few extra years of warranty... Now I got the warranty up to 75,000miles or 6years.
If I bought a 2009 new model, I would have probably not taken it...
I went with the extended warranty just to cover myself if something should ever go wrong, I will keep my fingers crossed I have not had to use the warranty yet. One year and 2 mouths later not a problem. Jake W Mears Brookville, Ohio
Nope, didn't figure it was worth it. I do all my own servicing anyway. I used to work in retail, all an extended warranty does is make pure profit for whoever sells it.
Just bought it last week from Beverly Hlls Mercedes/ Smart Center Beverly Hills. Had a 1-year grace period and decided to do it -- we'll see if it ever comes in handy.

Most extended warranties are a big rip off, I don't know about the one from smart but most often when you have a problem, it happens during the original warranty period, I quit buying them years ago and came out way ahead.
There was not an option on the poll for "Not yet" ...
I haven't decided whether to go with smart's, or something else. But, in either case, it's not required that you purchase at time of delivery. I figured I'd wait ... and not finance the warranty for two years before it was needed.
Unfortunately my smart has been in the shop (IMO) too many times and for expensive things. In fact my smart is at the dealer's shop right now. I opted to get the extended warranty because I'm sure the price of the warranty costs less then whatever else goes wrong with my car. Fingers crossed.
