Tore up my left rear tire today. Took it to our local Discount Tires and they got me a new Connty in one and a half hours. Tire cost $106.00 warranty and spin balance brought it to $158.00 out the door. I was sure sweating not having a spare but came out ok.

Tucson's' smart population is slowly growing. It used to be I would go a week without seeing one then see four or five in one day. Now I see at least two different ones every day. As the amount grows, so should the support in the local auto industry, (I hope).
My Discount Tire manager said he'd be scared to ride in a smart because it was a deathtrap. I haven't been back and am continuously asked where to get tires for all types of cars. Discount Tire is on my list of places to avoid.
#1 store manager rule - NEVER SAY ANYTHING NEGATIVE AROUND A CUSTOMER and better yet don't say it TO the customer about something they might be passionate about.

I can understand avoiding that location... but do you avoid the whole company altogether? Did you bring it to the attention of the HQ?
I had a VERY bad experience (I honestly believe they did serious damage to my vehicle) at a MAJOR tire dealer that made me avoid that location... when I brought it to the attention of the corporation's home office, their poor handling of my complaint has turned me off to the entire corporation forever.
(I'm a corporate trainer... whenever I teach a customer service class I use my experience as an example of what NOT to do. 100s of folks have heard my story.)

I had a similar experience at our local Discount Tire, they sold me a set of defective tires and wouldn't stand behind it until I filled out an online survey slamming them. I had the car back in 4 times in 4 months because the tires were out of round, and they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong until the free repalcement ran out, then all of a sudden the tires were out of round, and it was going to cost me to have them replaced.
Never been back to a them since. I shop at Tire Rack now....

Because of the one store I don't go to the other location near here. Now I just do Tire Rack and I have access to the equipment to mount myself.
I did the same thing with Wal-Mart about 17 years ago. One bad experience in one store and I didn't step foot in a store for 5 years. I did get over it.
