Do you have a long commute everyday?

I will be (very soon) doing about 65 miles per day in my little smart car.
Has anyone been doing this and what has been your experience?
Any advice?

The wife has done her 80 mile a day round trip every day since May with the smart... Let's just put it this way, she won't let me drive it during the week.

Same here. I average about 126 miles a day with commute and drop/pickup of the kid at school. I do watch the weather alittle since I don't have snow tires but no problems and it is my vehicle of choice. Going on 3 months and 6,300 miles..

My advice is get yourself cruise control, if you don't already have it.

Area451 Cruise Control Installed

Area 451 Cruise Control

There are other threads on the subject, but you get the picture. It's a relatively easy installation. Your right leg will thank you for it.

I do thirty miles each way each work day. About 3 miles through the neighborhood hills, twenty-five miles on freeways (and the floating bridge) then about three miles of industrial area. Several at work have asked me if I will start driving my Silverado again now that gas prices are going down. I don't think so. Obelix is more comfortable but Asterix is more fun.

Thank you very little!?!? Maybe the rain...maybe the smog when I lived in LA...maybe the cold in IA and WI...maybe the grits in GA...barbeque in KCMO...maybe it's just me!

I still say hello to Obelix every morning. The only time he has been out of the neighborhood since Asterix arrived in February was to the USC vs WSU game in Pullman last October. Like I said comfortable is important at times.

It's a car, acts like any other car on the highway. Its a hand full on really windy days. Cruise control is a big NO NO in rush hour traffic, at 65 to 75 mph. I drive 38 miles round trip.
